Use Resume Writing Tools Free Online

Use Resume Writing Tools Free OnlineIf you are looking for a way to increase your chances of getting hired, then you should be using resume writing tools that are free. These programs do a great job of helping you get past the often daunting task of creating a resume and they can do so by automating a lot of the work that usually takes you more than an hour to complete. This will save you money, time and the stress of having to manually do all of the things that you have to do to create a nice-looking, professionally formatted resume. There are a lot of methods that you can use in order to create a very nice-looking resume. The most common are the 'big' paid programs out there. These are the programs that you pay a monthly fee to use and that has to come with the privilege of making it seem like you know what you are doing when you fill out your resume. The problem with these is that they offer the ability to do so much in the way of things like filling out of hundreds of different pi eces of information that you can only do manually. The problem with this is that they do not really give you the ability to create a very professional looking resume. They are good at keeping you focused on the information that they have to offer, but they can not help you get past the things that you need to do to really make sure that your resume stands out. Resume writing tools that are free are perfect for people who are looking to make a great first impression, and the free programs that you can find online can do so by automating the things that you cannot.Tools that are free are typically designed to do many of the things that you can not do on your own. One of these is that they offer templates for things like your name, the organization that you work for, your contact information, and even the subject line that you want to use. All of these things can help you make sure that your resume will look professional. If you have other materials that you need to take care of before you submit your resume, you can use these tools as well. You will not be required to fill out any information that is not very important, which is another advantage of the free programs. You will simply need to input all of the information that you can think of that is related to you and your skills. All of this can be taken care of automatically and will save you the time that you would otherwise spend trying to do all of the details manually. Some of the most impressive ones that you can find online can be found through these free tools. You can use these programs and produce a nice-looking resume with just the click of your mouse. You can do so without having to spend a dime and you can do so without having to wait a single minute for your resume to be completed. All of the different programs that you can find online allow you to automate the most of the tasks that you need to do in order to make sure that your resume is put together quickly and without delay. If you are looking for a way to impress the hiring manager at your company, then you should consider using a resume writing tool that is free. Not only will it save you time, but it will save you the amount of stress that comes from having to wait to get your resume done.If you have any doubt about how to write an effective resume, then you should consider using one of these programs. You can save yourself a lot of stress and you can also show the hiring manager that you are serious about the position that you are applying for. These programs are available to everyone, but you will not be able to use them without the help of some sort of support or subscription, so make sure that you make that decision before you take the first step.

Corporate America Lifestyle From An Entrepreneurs Eye - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Corporate America Lifestyle From An Entrepreneurs Eye - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career New shoes on your first day of work at an 800-acre corporate campus are a bad idea…unless you like blisters. That was my first lesson on day one as the new Division Vice President of Social Media Marketing for a Fortune 50 retailer based in the Chicagoland area. Life has been a bit different working in Corporate America again after nearly a decade away as an entrepreneur and small business leader. Heres how I see the differences, from my Entrepreneurial Eyes: Entrepreneur life vs. corporate life Entrepreneur Life: Brainstorming meant connecting over coffee once a month with a mastermind group (hi guys) vs. Corporate Life: Brainstorming happens every day in many ways with a talented group of peers, colleagues and staff Im grateful to be a part of (thanks) Entrepreneur Life: If I had an issue with my laptop, I fixed it vs. Corporate Life: If I have an issue with my laptop, I put in an online request which submits an order to IT who then schedules time to fix it Entrepreneur Life: Late nights and weekends = work vs.   Corporate Life: Late nights and weekends = work Entrepreneur Life: My coffee addiction was fueled by our office Flavia machine + 2 Starbucks vs. Corporate Life: My coffee addiction is fueled by 2 on-site cafes (oh yeah) Entrepreneur Life: My dress code was mainly jeans and heels vs. Corporate Life: My dress code is full of new clothes Entrepreneur Life: If I needed office supplies, I walked to Office Depot and bought them (and paid for them) vs. Corporate Life: If I need office supplies, I send a list to an admin that orders them (and they pay for it-double yay!) Entrepreneur Life: For lunch I could go outside to any of the cafes or restaurants near my office vs. Corporate Life: For lunchwell, its the 2nd largest cafeteria next to the Pentagonneed I say more? Its pretty damn good All in all, life inside Corporate America is pretty damn good. There may be more meetings, a whole lot of departments, 800 acres of buildings to find my way through (Im still getting lost) and a plethora of names to remember â€" but it’s worth it. I’m excited to be working alongside so many intelligent professionals â€" something that I missed as an entrepreneur! Stay tuned as I share my journey back into the land of corporate America. Social media primer for job seekers - Sterling Career Concepts

Social media primer for job seekers Social media primer for job seekers As a member of the Career Collective blogging community of resume writers and career coaches, this post is one of many this month discussing how to use social media in a job search. I encourage you to visit other members responses linked at the end of my postand follow our hashtag on Twitter all month long: #careercollective. Not sure your way around a tweet or a post? Do you know how to like a post? Fear not, each of us was one day a social media newbie. The good news is its easy to pick one to get started and then join in with another once youre ready. The unchartered waterswontbe thatscary, and the upside is that your social media activity positively helps your search engine results when your name is Googled during your job search. What follows are some dos and donts for social media newbies: DO vary your posts between the different platforms for those contacts of yours who are in more than one of your networks. DO mention your job search on Facebook, but only occasionally. AsFacebookis going to contain your most personal network, please dont inundate your family and friends with every detail of your job search, but DO post what type of position you are searching for in case someone in your network can assist you. DO use one picture (head and shoulders, please) across all platforms for consistent branding and familiarity. DO follow your target companies on Twitter as well as career professionals, thought leaders and subject matter experts in your field. DO consider starting your own blog to establish yourself as a subject matter expert, value-added professional, or thought leader in your space. DONT post, tweet, or share anything questionable, inappropriate, or off-color. Its not worth the risk, and your online activity can never really be deleted. Keep your professional reputation in tact by keeping things clean. That does not mean that you cant share personal anecdotes, funny stories, or success. Just remember to keep everything clean. DONT be intimidated by Twitter. Remember, there are two aspects of being on Twitter tweeting your own content, and reading and benefiting from others tweeted material. The single biggest piece of Twitter advice I can offer someone starting out is to download TweetDeck as your Twitter application. TweetDeck allows you to set up groups or establish searches according tokey word phrases. The results are shared on your screen in column format. In my experience, its been much more user friendly than the standard Twitter account home page. DONT just retweet, like or share other peoples material. Its important to develop a mix of posting original content and participating in the community aspect of social media. Add something to the conversation! and finallyDONT wait any longer to get started. Just do it! Several career professionals agree that the order of ease among social media platforms when starting out is:LinkedIn,Facebook, and tied for third,Twitter, andblogging.__________________________ Read along for more advice from my esteemed fellow memebrs of the Career Collective: Make Your Career More Social: Show Up and Engage, @WalterAkana You 2.0: The Brave New World of Social Media and Online Job Searches, @dawnrasmussen How to Get a New Job Using Social Media, @DebraWheatman Social Media: Choosing, Using, and Confusing, @ErinKennedyCPRW How to Use Social Media in Your Job Search, @heatherhuhman Updating: A Social Media Strategy For Job Search, @TimsStrategy Your Career Needs Social Media Get Started, @EliteResumes @MartinBuckland We Get By With a Little Recs from Our Friends, @chandlee Expat Careers Social Media: Social Media is Potentially 6 Times more Influential than a CV or Resume, @expatcoachmegan Social-Media Tools and Resources to Maximize Your Personalized Job Search, @KatCareerGal Job Search and Social Media: A Collective Approach, @careersherpa How Having Your Own Website Helps You, @keppie_careers Social Media: So whats the point?, @DawnBugni Tools that change your world, @WorkWithIllness HOW TO: Meet People IRL via LinkedIn, @AvidCareerist Effective Web 2.0 Job Search: Top 5 Secrets, @resumeservice Jumping Into the Social Media Sea @ValueIntoWords Sink or Swim in Social Media, @KCCareerCoach

3 Reasons To Track The Numbers In Your Job Performance

3 Reasons To Track The Numbers In Your Job Performance Some of us liked math class, and some of us did not (I am in the latter group). But like it or not, numbers are essential in your career, from resume to retirement and everywhere in between. Job performance numbers are particularly useful for at least three reasons: they look good on your resume they help with salary negotiations and they give you confidence Performance Numbers Validate Your Resume When you can state that your work for a past employer resulted in a 15% increase in sales, that is an authoritative statement. It had better be a true statement that you can back up with more information, too! The fact is. illustrating your success with hard numbers always gets a good ROI on your resume  because it is specific proof of your worth. Employers looking for a good return on their investment in hiring you will be impressed. Performance Numbers Bolster Your Salary When you come into a salary negotiation equipped with the numbers showing your worth, you have a powerful argument for getting a raise or added benefits. You have provided the company with more profit and are worthy of a bigger wage. Again, the numbers need to be backed with additional information so it can be verified if questions come up. If you are due for a salary increase, be prepared to bolster your claims with the numbers to prove it. Performance Numbers Boost Your Confidence   When you are keeping track of what you do at work and the difference that it makes, theres a record of your valuable input. Even something as simple as attendance means you were on the job and if you are tracking all the numbers of your particular job you should see which numbers will be valuable for your resume and salary negotiations. You will also begin to see indications and trends in your personal work habits and opportunities that will help you establish goals. Keeping track of your own job performance numbers puts you in control of your own career.
